[Fashion] Lolita Wardrobe Essentials: Blouse

Let's take a moment to talk about lolita wardrobe must-haves. Must-haves are important staples for any lolita closet, and today we're going to discuss the blouse. Now you must be thinking, the blouse? That's a no brainer! Perhaps to someone well versed in the fashion, but for fledgling lolitas just starting out shopping for a blouse can be a daunting task. Let's take a look at some of the most common blouses.

The Shirring blouse
Shirring is a type of gather used in sewing to be decorative. Although it wasn't originally used with elastice, we see it more commonly in modern fashion. I like shirring because it stretches! You will see it commonly in the back of most lolita jumperskirts to fit a variety of sizes, but you will also see it sewn into blouses too. The great thing about the shirring blouse is that it can fit a lolita of any size.

Removeable ribbons
Removeable accessories on blouses are perfect for versatility. Blouses aren't limited just to removeable ribbons but also ties, chains, bows, brooches, and jabots.

Convertable blouse
This is my absolute favorite type of blouse. The sleeves are detachable which allows you to prepare for any weather, and more versatility. I think this is the perfect starter blouse for any lolita since it's a two-for-one! Here are a few coordinate ideas using a convertable blouse.
